The summer is well under way, it’s hot and sunny, the conditions are perfect to get outside and get moving. We gather some friends and off we go from one activity to the next. All sounds great? Yes of course so far, but then it happens a false move, a misstep, an invitation to build a deck or help a friend move you name it all happens and often very unexpectedly.  Don’t let that injury ruin your summer and be proactive this year by booking yourself in for a massage to remedy that pain, strain or spasm and lets get you moving again as soon as possible.

If you’re not in the above category than I applaud you as injury prevention for the active individual is often a full time job. I encourage you to continue with your preventative habits of stretching, conditioning and staying hydrated and would recommend adding a monthly massage to your regimen; especially in these very active months of summer!

Never had a massage before?

Here is a list of benefits and explanation of what we do to help you decide if this is the right fit for you!

There are tremendous benefits to be achieved through regular massage therapy treatments from a Registered Massage Therapist, RMT. Whether your need is to have a moment of relaxation, reduce muscle tension or attain relief from chronic pain, a therapeutic massage can enhance your overall sense of emotional and physical well-being.

Massage therapy can be an important part of your health maintenance plan by:

  • Reducing or eliminating pain
  • Improving joint mobility
  • Improving circulation
  • Improving lymphatic drainage
  • Reducing muscular tension

Massage therapy can be used for the treatment of both acute and chronic conditions. RMTs can work with a wide variety of patients, of all ages, injury levels or through rehabilitation.

RMT’s today use their knowledge of physiology and anatomy to combine traditional Swedish and modern massage therapy techniques to treat their clients. There has been a wide variety of research, published in peer reviewed journals, proving the benefits of massage therapy for various conditions.

The following is a list of conditions for which Registered massage therapy can help:

Anxiety and depression Muscle tension and spasms
Neck and back pain Sports injuries

Massage Therapy can also be used as part of a preventative care program. This includes sports training, injury prevention, ongoing stress management, and more! Together, you and your therapist will develop a treatment plan based on your needs.  Your treatment begins after you’ve given your informed consent.
